Access Control for Channels
CHANNEL VISIBILITY
Channels are either public or private. Public channels can be viewed with Suite Live player without any restrictions. Private channels will not play on Icareus Suite Live player unless user is logged-in.
More details on the configuration can be read from: Details (And Adding the New Channel)
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAY-PER-VIEW
Subscriptions and Pay-per-view packaging can be used to control more precisely who and how users can watch the channels. The basic requirement is that users must be logged in, but in addition their levels of access can be set by packages.
More details on the configuration can be read from: Managing Premium Services
Access Control for Video Streams
TOKEN PROTECTION
A token can be used in addition to both above cases to restrict the access to the actual video stream. By default, anyone can open the video stream with any video player, if they know the direct URL to the stream.
The access can be protected by requesting a token that is verified at the origin server before the viewer can access/open the video stream.
It should be noted that the video itself is still un-encrypted, but access to it is restricted.
DRM
DRM can be applied to both protect the access of the video streams and to encrypt the live streams.
