Facebook - Simulcasting Live stream to your Facebook Live account

Introduction

Simulcast is meant for use cases where event organiser want to distribute their live stream to both their own video portal with a branded video portal and YouTube or Facebook.
Icareus Suite enable event organiser to ingest a single live stream to Icareus Suite Cloud that is automatically simulcasted to Facebook or Youtube.
The main benefits are that event organiser do not require as much network capacity at the source and the workflow becomes simpler.
Due to the Facebook and Youtube end-user license agreement, it is possible to simulcast only to one of them.

Facebook is the world's 1st most used social media service, with 2.3 billion monthly users. (2019)

Facebook Live was released in April 2016 to give people the opportunity to broadcast live to their Facebook friends. While many people didn’t fully understand the need and platform, those people who were using the feature were benefiting from it and still are together.

Many people use Facebook regularly, so sharing and watching video content is a natural extension of the service. Some streams reach tens or even hundreds of thousands of visitors. Facebook updated its ranking algorithm to show more live videos on people’s news feeds. But, if you missed a live video from a friend or someone’s page that you follow on Facebook, live videos remain on the account’s wall after the Facebook live streaming event has finished.

Icareus Suite' Facebook Live integration allows you to do simulcast streaming to your Icareus Suite Live or Event / Webinar player and also simultaneously and easily to your linked Facebook account.
