Managing Categories / Folders

Introduction

Categories or folders are used for two different purposes:
1. To organize your video content on Icareus Video Cloud and
2. If you have public Video portal or Video pages, to manage video categories and video visibility there

Folder Features



Folders or Categories or groups are used to manage videos by grouping them. 
Icareus Suite does not limit how you group your videos, how many folders you want to have or if an asset belongs to multiple folders.
The following features are available for the folders and you can see them as icons at rightmost side of the folder area:
  1. Public/Private folder (visible e.g. on end-client GUI)
  2. Arrange folder (move up/down)
  3. Manage icon (associate an image) with a folder
  4. Edit/update an existing folder
  5. Add a new folder/sub-folder
  6. Delete an existing folder

You can check what's what by hovering your cursor over an icon.

Adding New Category/Folder

Adding a new folder is easy. You just need to click the 'Add New' button on top of the folder menu, or click the '+' button in the folder if you want to add a sub-folder.
If you want to add a main-level folder, click the button at the top of the folder menu, and if a sub-folder, click the button in the menu of the folder you want to add it in.
It will open a field form on top of the page.




Then you just need to:
  1. OPTIONAL: Select language of the (content in) folder
  2. Name the folder
  3. OPTIONAL: Write a description
  4. OPTIONAL: Add the folder icon or images
  5. Click the Save button to save the folder.
