Managing Categories/Folders

Introduction

Categories or folders are used for two different purposes:
1. To organize your video content on Icareus Video Cloud and
2. If you have a public video portal or video pages, to manage the visibility and order of their video categories

Folder Features



Folders or Categories or groups are used to manage videos by grouping them. 
Icareus Suite does not limit how you group your videos, how many folders you want to have or if an asset belongs to multiple folders.
The following features are available for the folders via clicking on the icons to their right & in the hamburger menu (see image below):




  1. Make folder private/public (visible on end client GUI)
  2. Open the hamburger menu
  3. Edit/update an existing folder
  4. Add a new folder/subfolder
  5. Delete the folder 
Additionally, you can drag folders. In this manner, you can:
  1. Arrange folders by moving them up/down in the list
  2. Make folders into subfolders by dragging them onto other folders
  3. Take subfolders out of folders. 
Examples:

The "Testi" folder is dragged on top of the "Thriller" folder. It will become a subfolder of "Thriller". Note the lack of a blue line.


The "Testi" folder is dragged between the folders "Kids" and "Thriller". Note the blue line.

The "Testi" folder is dragged between subfolders of "Action". It will become a subfolder of "Action". Note the length of the blue line compared to the previous image.


Adding New Category/Folder

To add a new folder, click the "Add New Folder" button on top of the folder menu, or click the "Add Subfolder" button in the hamburger menu of a folder if you want to add a subfolder.



Clicking either will open a modal. 


  1. OPTIONAL: Select the language of the (content in) the folder from the dropdown.
  2. Name the folder
  3. Click the Save button to save the  folder.
