Events and Webinar Technical Requirements

Introduction

To achieve a successful webinar, some technical aspects should be taken into consideration. This document tries to outline these from different perspectives.

Video production and Ingest

Streaming equipment

The customer is responsible for their streaming equipment.
Typical equipment is lights, camera and microphone.

Stream Ingest to Icareus Suite Cloud

The ingest to Icareus Cloud is done using RTMP protocol. You can find the ingest url from your event's info page.

Firewalls and connection

The following protocols are used and should be open on the firewall:

    RTMP, port 1935

The uplink connection speed should be two times your bitrate.
The recommended bitrate is 6 Mbit/s. Maximum allowed is 8Mbit/s.

Webinar User Experience


It is recommended to view webinar events without VPN connection. VPN connections usually have limited bandwidth and may restrict the connection in several ways.

Browsers
All latest browsers are supported

Domains
By default the following domain is used for the end-user experience: events.icareus.com

Network Connection
All video streaming is adaptive and the minimum network connection required is 2 Mbit/s.

Firewalls
The following protocols are used by the webinar and they should be opened in your organisation's firewalls:

    HTTP/HTTPS, port 80, 443
    HLS, port 80. 443
    WSS (Websockets), port 1234
