Table Versions

Introduction

MPEG-2 PSI and DVB SI tables have a version number which is incremented whenever a new version of the table is generated into the output transport stream.  Icareus Playout manages these version numbers, incrementing them automatically when it generates a new table version.
Table versions range from 0 to 31.  After reaching 31, the next value is 0.

Viewing and updating table versions

In Playout Web Console, you can view what the current table versions are by selecting a transport stream and opening the Table Versions tab.



In this example the version number in the PAT table for this specific transport stream is 24 at this moment. The version numbers shown in the edit boxes can not directly be edited. However, you can force incrementing of the version number and generation of a new table version into the TS by clicking Select for update for one or more tables and clicking Update table versions. You don't need to press Save.



In this example, we selected NIT, NIT other, SDT and SDT other tables for update. We click Update table versions. After a delay we see NIT version has increased from 14 to 15, and the other tables selected have also had their version number increased.



The user interface lets the user increment table versions even for tables that are not generated into the output TS.
