Public Site Security

Public sites on Icareus Suite can be secured by using a Security Identifier (SID). A request to Icareus must be made to enable this feature on the intended account.

Generating the SID

Once the security for public site in enabled, the SID can be generated as follows:
MD5HASH(<PUBLIC_IP_ADDRESS>::<ORGANIZATION_ID>::<ORGANIZATION_SECRET>)

The Hash should be lower case

The values of ORGANIZATION_ID and ORGANIZATION_SECRET can be asked from Icareus

Example

A user with PUBLIC_IP_ADDRESS 1.2.3.4 is going to access the site for ORGANIZATION_ID 12345 with ORGANIZATION_SECRET ABCDE.
SID  =  MD5HASH(1.2.3.4::12345::ABCDE) = d16ee3a29a55145116886b9855e61fe3


Usage

The usage is simply adding the SID parameter to the authentication URL:
http://public.site.address/authenticate?sid=d16ee3a29a55145116886b9855e61fe3
