Introduction
Icareus
Polls are used along with Message Board and Word Cloud to provide interactive events and to keep event and webinar viewers active and
committed to the event by letting them provide their opinions and answers to questions.
General info and functions
Icareus Polls management and moderator tools can be seen under each event created on Icareus Video Cloud.
You can see the Polls admin UI in the image below.

Notice that you need to have a valid license to see and use the Polls user interface on Icareus Video Cloud.
The features of the Poll function are the following:

Add Poll
| The Admin/Moderator can add an unlimited number of Polls to each event AND to each Room. I.e. if multi-room event is used, there can be different Polls for different rooms.

Poll Type
| There are three (3) different types of poll (visualizations) available: Horizontal bars, Vertical bars and Pie. (In addition, the Admin can select a "Word Cloud" option from the same menu.
|
Name
| The name of the Poll is for internal use and is not visible for end-users.
|
Question
| The question posed by the poll is defined in this field.
|
Rooms
| If the event is multi-room, here the Admin can select which room the Poll is for.
|
Add option
| The Admin can create 1-N different answer options by clicking the '+ Add option' -button.
|
Save
| The Admin must click 'Save' after configuring the Poll in order to save it.
|
Show Polls
| The 'Show Polls' toggle button makes the Polls visible/invisible on Icareus Message Board.

Currently you can make three types of visualizations of your polls:
Horizontal Bar Poll
The Horizontal Bar Poll configuration can be seen in the image below:

When the Admin has 'Show Polls' toggle button active AND clicks the 'Start' button, the poll will start, turn green on the poll list and become visible to the participants:

These signs will inform participants of a new poll:
- The blue dot after 'Polls'
- This message on the Message Board: New poll available! ([Question]) Click 'Polls' to vote.
On the 'Polls' tab the user can participate in the poll:
After the end user has voted, they will see this notification:
A person can only vote once.
On the admin UI the administrator/moderator can see the amount of votes and their distribution in real time:
When there are enough votes, the Admin/Moderator can click the 'Stop' button to end the poll, which will change the poll's color to Red on the poll list:
The Admin/Moderator can now click the 'Show results' button to make the poll results visible to the event participants. The status color of the poll will change to blue:
The results will appear like this:
It's also possible to open the results in "Full screen state" to be shown on stream or on a screen on the physical event location. This can be done by clicking the 'View Full Screen' button.
It will open the poll result in a new browser tab:
Vertical Bar Poll
The Vertical Bar Poll is quite similar to the Horizontal bar poll. It's configured the same way:
After configuring the poll, it can be started, which will change its status color Green:
The poll will now be visible for the participants.
Voting UI (= the VOTE buttons) is the same for all types of polls:
The voting results can be tracked in real-time again:
After stopping the poll, the state color turns Blue in the same manner:
The results are published by clicking the 'Show results' button:
Pie Poll
The Pie Poll is quite similar to the Horizontal bar and Vertical Bar polls. It's configured the same way:
After configuring the poll, it can be started, which will change its status color Green:
The poll becomes visible for the participants.
The voting results can be tracked in real-time again:
The results can be published by clicking the 'Show results' button:
Poll Phases
There are two poll phases: The voting phase and the results phase.

There can be multiple polls in different or same phases visible for the end-users at the same time.
The Event audience is automatically informed of all the different poll phases on the Message Board:
