Introduction to Icareus Playout Installation

The installation of Icareus Playout is divided into the following steps:  

  1. Operating system and database installation 
  2. Icareus Playout software installation 
  3. Icareus Playout configuration
  4. Icareus Playout redundancy configuration

Playout Prerequisites

Hardware

Icareus standard systems ships on DELL OEM server. 

In case other hardware is used below is the minimum setup: 

  1. Intel Xeon X3430 Processor (2.40GHz, 4C, 8M Cache, 95W TDP, Turbo), DDR3-1333MHz 
  2. 4GB of 1333MHz Memory 
  3. 250GB SATA 7.2k in RAID1 hard drives 
  4. 3 x Gigabit network cards, preferably on two independent cards for redundant IP output 
  5. PCIe slot for DVB-ASI card 
  6. Redundant power supply is recommended 

Software Requirements

Operating system: CentOS 7 v7.7.1908 or later
Database: Postgresql 9.2.24
