Introduction
With
Icareus Suite you can trim the video directly in the cloud environment.
Trimming means removing footage from the beginning and/or from the end of the video.
In
addition, you can also create new highlight videos from the original
video, e.g. if you have a 1 hour long video with 5 speakers,
you can create 5 separate "highlight" videos, each showing a single speaker's parts.
Trimming
To trim to the video:
- Select the video asset.
- Click the "Trim" button next to the video preview:
It will open a pop-up - make sure your browser allows it.
3. Now, enter the trimming parameters.
Example:
The case video is 2:06 long (2 minutes and 6 seconds) and there are 6
seconds extra at the end and 10 seconds in the beginning.
Then put:
- End time: 00:02:00 (define it to 2:00 )
- Start time: 00:00:10 (define it to 10 s.)
- Create
new snapshot: If you want to create a new snapshot from the original
video, then select "Yes", if you just want to trim the existing video, select
"No".
- Click "Trim video" button.
==> The new video will be around 1:50 long.

The cut/trim points are not exact, as the trimming is done to ensure maximum speed. The start and end times will be rounded to nearest key-frames.
3. The system will ask for confirmation.

There is not Return/Back feature in the system, so once the existing video trimmed, you cannot get the original back.
4. System is processing the video
You have to wait for a while.
5. Processing is Ready
You can now close the pop-up and refresh the assets page. You will see one or both assets (if you chose to create a new snapshot).
- The system has added the week day, date and time for the Asset name
- It has transcoded the new version, so the thumbnail of the video is bit
different (in this case, from 10 seconds later than in the original video)
