Introduction
The Media Tools & Settings panel allows you to add and manage content in your project.
With the top four icons, you can add videos, text, audio and images. You can also add effects and styling to the added elements.
Use the bottom icon to access the project settings.
This article explains the different sections of the panel and how to use them.
Video
The Videos section allows you to search for and add video clips to your project. Once added to the timeline, videos can be edited and styled using the available settings.
Adding a video
Use the search field to find videos.
You can filter the results using the tabs at the top:
- All - Videos from all available sources
- Icareus Videos – Videos available in your account’s media library
- Free Videos – Copyright-free stock videos from Pexels (coming soon)
Click a video to add it to the timeline and on the preview canvas.
When a video clip is selected on the timeline, editing options become available.
Replacing a video
A thumbnail of the selected video is shown at the top of the Video panel.

Click the thumbnail to choose a different video.
The new video will replace the current one while keeping the existing settings, such as crop, position, animations, and styling.
Video Settings
Available video settings:
- Crop
- Position
- Volume
- Playback
Crop
Adjust how the video is cropped.
- Choose from preset aspect ratios
- Resize the crop area directly in the preview by dragging the handles
- Click Reset to restore the original crop
Position
Set the video’s position within the preview canvas.
You can set the position to:
Volume
Adjust the volume level of the video.
- Use the slider to increase or decrease volume
- Click to mute or unmute the audio
- Default: 100%
Playback Speed
Change the playback speed of the video.
- Available range: 0.25x to 4x
- Default: 1x
Enter Animations
Animate the video's entrance.
- 38 enter animations available
- Hover over an animation to preview it
- Default: None
Exit Animations
Animate the video's exit.
- 38 exit animations available
- Hover over an animation to preview it
- Default: None
Video Style
Fit
If the video’s aspect ratio differs from the preview canvas, you can adjust how it fits:
- Cover (default) – Expands the video to fully cover the available area without stretching. Excess parts are cropped.
- Contain – Fits the entire video inside the available area without stretching. Empty space may remain.
- Fill – Stretches the video to match the canvas aspect ratio.
Filter Preset
Apply a visual filter to the video clip.
- 10 preset filters available
- Default: None
Border Radius (px)
Adjust the roundness of the video’s corners using the slider.
- Default: 0 px (no rounding)
Border radius also affects padding (if added):
Brightness (%)
Adjust the brightness level using the slider.
- Default: 100%
Adjusting brightness counts as a custom filter and changes the selected filter preset to Custom. If you select a different filter, the brightness setting will reset to 100%.
Padding (px)
Add spacing around the video using the slider.
- Default: 0 px
Padding Background
Change the color and opacity of the padding area.
- Default: White, 100% opacity
- Click Reset to restore the default color.
How to pick a color:
- Use the color picker
- Enter hex code
- Enter rgb code
- Select a color preset
How to adjust opacity:
- Use the slider 0 → 100%
Text
The Text section allows you to add styled text elements to your project.
Text elements are added to the timeline and can be customized using animation and styling options.
Adding text
Nine text presets are available. Each preset defines a predefined layout and styling. The visual design of each preset (layout, decorative elements, and base styling) is predefined and cannot be modified.
You can still customize:
- The text content
- Position
- Font settings (family, weight, size, spacing)
- Colors (if supported by the preset)
- Enter and exit animations
Some presets, such as gradient text styles, do not allow manual color adjustments.
Click a preset to:
- Add it to the timeline
- Open its editing panel
Text clips are added with a default duration. You can adjust the length by dragging the clip edges on the timeline.
Editing Text Content
At the top of the Text panel, enter the text you want to display.
By default, the text field contains the name of the selected preset.

Text Settings
Enter and Exit Animations
Text elements support the same 38 enter and exit animations available for video clips.
- Add an enter animation to the beginning of the text
- Add an exit animation to the end
- Hover to preview animations
Text Style
Font Family
Select the font from the dropdown menu.
- Default: font-sans
Font Weight
Choose the font weight.
Available options depend on the selected font.
Font Size
Adjust the text size using the slider.
Click the reset icon to restore the default size.
The size of the text element can also be adjusted by dragging its handles directly in the preview canvas.
This method works independently from the Font Size slider:
- Changing the font size does not affect manual canvas resizing.
- Resetting the font size restores only the slider value.
Letter Spacing
Adjust spacing between letters using the slider.
Click the reset icon to restore the default spacing.
Text Alignment
Align the text inside the text element:
- Left
- Center (default)
- Right
This setting aligns text inside the element only. It does not change the element’s position on the canvas.
Colors
Most text presets include:
- Text color
- Highlight color
Default colors depend on the selected preset.
Gradient text presets do not support manual color changes.
Audio
The Audio section allows you to add background music or sound effects to your project.
Selecting an audio file adds it to the timeline and opens its settings panel.
Adding audio
The panel displays a list of available audio files.
You can filter the list using the tabs at the top:
- All – All available audio files.
- Icareus Audio – Audio uploaded to Studio by you or other users in the same account. New audio can be added using the 'Browse files' box at the bottom of the panel.
- Free Audio – Copyright-free music from Pixabay.
Click an audio file to add it to the timeline.
When an audio clip is selected on the timeline, editing options become available.
Audio Settings
Track Name & Preview
The name of the audio file is displayed at the top of the panel.
Click the play icon to preview the track. Click it again to pause the preview.
Volume
Adjust the volume level of the audio clip.
- Use the slider to increase or decrease volume
- Click to mute or unmute the audio
- Default: 100%
Fade In
Set how long the audio takes to fade in from 0% volume to full volume.
- Default: 0.0 seconds
- Maximum: Up to the full length of the audio clip
The fade-in duration is also displayed on the audio clip in the timeline.
Fade Out
Set how long the audio takes to fade out from full volume to 0%.
- Default: 0.0 seconds
- Maximum: Up to the full length of the audio clip
The fade-out duration is also displayed on the audio clip in the timeline.
Image
The Images section allows you to add still images to your project.
Images are added to the timeline and can be edited and styled using similar controls as videos.
Add an Image
You can filter the image list using the tabs at the top:
- All – All available images.
- Icareus Images – Images uploaded to Studio by you or other users in the same account. New images can be added using the Upload option at the bottom of the panel.
- Free Images – Copyright-free images from Pexels (coming soon).
Click an image to add it to the timeline. Its editing panel will open automatically.
Replacing an Image
A thumbnail of the selected image is shown at the top of the Image panel.

Click the thumbnail to choose a different image.
The new image replaces the current one while keeping the existing settings, such as crop, position, animations, and styling.
Image Settings
Crop
Adjust how the image is cropped.
- Choose from preset aspect ratios
- Resize the crop area directly in the preview by dragging the handles
- Click Reset to restore the original crop
Position
Set the image’s position within the preview canvas.
You can align the image to:
- Center
- Any corner
- Any side
- Fill the entire canvas
Enter Animations
Animate the image's entrance.
- 38 enter animations available
- Hover over an animation to preview it
Exit Animations
Animate the video's exit.
- 38 exit animations available
- Hover over an animation to preview it
3D Layout Effects
Apply 3D layout effects to the selected image.
These effects add depth or perspective styling to the image within the canvas.
- Default: None
Image Style
Fit
If the image’s aspect ratio differs from the preview canvas, you can adjust how it fits:

Project Settings
The Project Settings panel allows you to configure global settings that affect the entire project.
You can access Project Settings from the Settings icon at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Background Color
Choose the background color for the preview canvas and the exported video.
- Default: White
- Click Reset to reset back to default
Show Alignment Guides
Enable or disable alignment guides on the preview canvas.
When enabled, guide lines appear while moving or resizing elements if they align with:
- Other elements on the canvas
- The center of the canvas
- The horizontal or vertical center lines
This helps with precise positioning and layout.
Save History
The Save History section lists previously saved versions of the project.
From here, you can:
- Load a previous save
- Delete individual save entries
- Click the Delete icon above the list to remove all saved versions
- Click the Refresh icon to update the list
Loading a previous save restores the project to that version.
