Managing Premium Services and Content Packages

Introduction

Icareus Suite provides multiple options to monetize all content: channels, videos and events. Content can be monetized by placing it under various types of purchasable packages with different models that Icareus Suite provides. The system also provides different payment methods that can be used to make purchases.

Transactional Video On Demand (TVOD)
VOD assets
Sell assets with a one-time purchase model valid for a specific time. Buying this package grants access to the content for time equal to the "Validity period" of the package

Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD)
VOD assets
Sell assets as a recurring payment model. Buying this package grants access to the content for time equal to the "Charging period" of the package, with automatic renewal after each "Charging period".
This package can only be purchased with Credit Card payment method.
Free Video On Demand (FVOD)
VOD assets
Sell assets in a free package for trials, promotions etc.

Premium Channels
Channels
Sell channels as a recurring payment model. Buying this package grants access to the content for time equal to the "Charging period" of the package, with automatic renewal after each "Charging period".
This package can only be purchased with Credit Card payment method.
Single Purchase Premium Channels
Channels
Sell channels with a one-time purchase model valid for a specific time. Buying this package grants access to the content for time equal to the "Validity period" of the package.

Free Channels
Channels
Sell channels in a free package for trials, promotions etc.

Premium Channels Pick and Choose
Channels
Sell channels as a recurring payment model with pick and choose option. This allows the admins to modify the channel content for the users based on individual user requirement.
This package can only be purchased with Credit Card payment method.
Single Purchase Premium Events
Events (and Webinars)
Sell concert, webinar, sports or similar events with a one-time purchase model valid indefinitely. Buying this package gives indefinite access to the event and its recordings (if any).

Single Purchase Combination Packages
VOD and Live packages
Sell combination of other packages with a one-time purchase model valid for a specific time. Buying this package grants access to the content in the sub-packages for time equal to the "Validity period" of the parent package.

Premium Combination Package Subscription
VOD and Live packages
Sell combination of other packages as a recurring payment model. Buying this package grants access to the content in the sub-packages for time equal to the "Charging period" of the parent package, with automatic renewal after each "Charging period".
This package can only be purchased with Credit Card payment method.


Adding Packages

Adding Channels to packages

Packages can be added using the Icareus Suite administration UI, and under the "Packages" section.



Select a package type and then click "Add"



Fill the required package details and click "Save".

Adding VOD assets to Packages

Same way you can add videos to SVOD (Subscription VOD) or TVOD (Tranaction VOD) packages.
Go to Packages -> Manage -> TVOD (Or SVOD) -> and select "Assets" tab: 



Click the Add button at the bottom:



It will add an extra menu, from where you can select Group/Category to find the content you like.
Click the 'double-arrow left' (<<) button to add an asset to the package.


Then you can close the Add menu.

The period for which the content is available after purchase, also determines the recharge period for subscriptions
This is ignored for Events, which have indefinite access.
Quantity*
Set to 1. Not applicable/used for digital purchases.

Any images for the package
These cannot be seen by users at the moment

Adding Content to Packages

Content can be added to packages using the instructions and references below:

Select the package in which to add content, and select the second tab (Channels, Assets, Events or Packages)
Click the "Add" button at the bottom, and select content from the right panel
