There are different ways to add subtitle or caption to videos:
- Write them manually with the subtitle tool
- Edit an existing subtitle/caption file
- Import a ready .txt file (e.g. speech transcription) to the tool and create subtitles from that
- Use the automatic subtitle generation AI tool to generate raw/unrefined subtitles that can be further manually edited with the subtitling tool
This article is about option 2.
When editing existing subtitles or captions manually, you will first need to go the subtitling tool from Suite Video cloud assets -> Video -> by clicking the "Edit" button at the rightmost end of an existing subtitle on the list of subtitles of the selected video:

It will open the Icareus Subtitling tool with the chosen video and subtitle file.
Editing subtitles/captions
After that you can edit the subtitles and timing.
Saving and exporting subtitles
You can Save the subtitle files with the buttons:
Probably when editing the existing subtitle file, you'll want to just save the edited/corrected subtitle file to replace the old one. To do that, just click the "Save" button:
To tool will tell you that it has saved successfully. You can now close the tool.
However, if you want to create a new subtitle file, you need to click the 'Save as' button. It will open a pop-up:
There you can name the subtitle. The good way is to name it is with the language used in the subtitle file:
Click 'Save' to save the file.
The subtitle file will appear in the list of subtitles as a separate file.
You can now close the tool.
