Anonymous upload pages
Introduction
Organizations can create anonymous upload pages in Icareus Video Cloud. An anonymous upload page allows users to upload video files without signing in.
Files uploaded through the page are saved automatically to the selected folder in the Media Library.

Enabling Anonymous Upload Pages
Anonymous upload pages are not enabled automatically.
If an organization wants to use this feature, the organization must request activation from Icareus.
Once the feature has been activated for the organization, admin users can enable an upload page for individual folders.
Activating an Upload Page for a Folder
To activate an upload page for a folder, go to: Media Library → Videos
Find the folder where you want uploaded files to be saved.
Open the folder menu and click "Edit".

In the folder edit view, enable 'Activate upload page for this folder':
After the checkbox is selected, the upload page URL is shown below the setting.
It may take a few minutes before the upload page becomes available.
After enabling or disabling the checkbox, remember to save the folder. The change will not take effect until the folder is saved.
Upload Page URL
The Upload URL can be copied from the folder edit view and shared with users who should be able to upload files to the selected folder.
The upload page URL is formed based on the organization account name and the selected folder ID.
Example: https://uploads.icareus.com/en/accountname/1234567
The following parts of the URL cannot be changed:
- https://uploads.icareus.com – The domain
- accountname – The organization account name
- 1234567 – The folder ID
The following parts can be adjusted or added in the link you share with users:
- en – The upload page language code
- ?message= – An optional URL parameter used to add placeholder text to the Message field
Changing the Upload Page Language
The upload page language can be changed by changing the language code in the URL.
Supported languages:
- en – English
- fi – Finnish
- se – Swedish

Add a Message Placeholder
The upload page contains a Message field and a Video file field. The Message field is explained in more detail later in this article.
You can add placeholder text to the Message field by adding the message attribute to the upload page URL.
Example: https://uploads.icareus.com/en/accountname/1234567?message=Enter sender name
The value added after 'message=' is shown as placeholder text in the Message field.

Uploading a Video
The upload page contains two fields:
- Message
- Video file
The upload page supports both light and dark mode.

Message
The text entered in the Message field is saved as the title of the uploaded video asset.
If placeholder text has been added to the upload page URL, it is shown inside the Message field before the user starts typing.

The placeholder text is only a hint shown in the field. It does not count as a valid message. The user must enter their own text before uploading.
Video File
A video file can be added by:
- Dragging and dropping the file into the upload area
- Clicking the upload area and selecting a file from the device
The name of the selected file will be shown below the 'Video file' field:
Only one file can be uploaded at a time. If you select another file before uploading, it will replace the previously selected file.
The maximum file size is 2 GB.
Required Fields
Both fields must be filled before the upload can be completed:
- A message must be entered
- A video file must be selected
Placeholder text does not count as a valid message. The user must write a message manually.
If the user tries to upload without entering a message, an error message is shown:

Do not close the browser tab or window while the upload is in progress.
When the upload is complete, the page shows a success message:

After a successful upload, the file is saved to the folder where the upload page was activated:
The text entered in the Message field is saved as the video asset title, and the original file name is saved in the asset description field:
